Max Bitterman founded this organization on the belief that all dogs can be good dogs. We have proven this by working with dogs from the worst of circumstances and with the most extreme behavioral issues with remarkable success. This is what drives owner Max Bitterman to build and create new opportunities to help dogs become happy and balanced family companions. Max studies dog pack behavior and dog psychology along side certified canine behaviorist and co-owner Robert Cole.
Buster specializes in helping shy & insecure small dogs get back in touch with their inner strength. He is an excellent role model for obedience & behavior in a human's world. His confidence, small stature and unimposing way of being with other dogs gives those dogs who fear dog-dog introductions a chance to get to know another dog without confrontation.
My name is Robert Cole and I am the Owner and Senior Dog Behaviorist here at Your Dog's Best Friend. I believe in the well being and kindness of all animals. I own two dogs: a Black Lab mix, Shelby, and an American Staffordshire Terrier, Cesar. They are both with their own unique personalities. I chose to work with dogs due to the overwhelming need of people who want to help their dog(s) live a happy and healthy life. I am against any form of BSL. I have worked with dogs of all sizes and breeds. From clicker to compulsion, to positive reinforcement, I have studied in many different forms of training. This has helped me become a more rounded trainer and has enabled me to be creative with my approach to every dog. I find this valuable because every situation, dog and family is unique. I have only the dog's best interest in mind. I teach people how to train their dog(s) as well as how to keep a positive balance between man and man's best friend. So that person, be it man, woman, or child, will know exactly how to handle their dog and truly become "Dog's Best Friend."
Cesar serves as a role model and leader for demeanor and behavior for large breed dogs with aggression, fear and hyperactivity during behavioral training. His love of play and his ability to stay unintimidated by fear-based aggression has allowed Cesar to be the first playmate for many overdue dogs! His submissive confident demeanor is inviting and exciting for those dogs who usually shy away from social opportunities.
At Your Dog's Best Friend, we spend our days hosting dog groups where we teach owners how to "Dog Whisper" and help dogs socialize in a positive environment. We work with several veterinary hospitals and rescue agencies to create great dogs when all hope seems to be lost. We do in-home training to help dog owners rehabilitate dog behavior problems and learn how to manage dog behavior themselves. You will see Your Dog's Best Friend at all of the major dog events throughout the region reaching out to dog owners, giving seminars and being Your Dog's Best Friend!
