Chew Toys For Powerful Breeds 01/06/2010
There's nothing that keeps my dogs more content than a toy they can chew, gnaw and chew some more. My two dogs are very powerful chewers, so the standard plush or vinyl dog toy won't last in this household for more than 30 seconds. After going through many dog toys, I have found the following toys to be the most durable, long lasting chew toys...

Christmas Dog Story, MN 12/01/2009
"Where'd the cookies go? They were here a minute ago!" my sister Sylvia shouted from the living room. It was Christmas Eve and she was crouched under the artificial tree, staring at an empty dish resting on the tree skirt. A few crumbs were visible, but otherwise, there was little trace of what had been there. Only a short while earlier, our mother had set a dish of crunchy oatmeal raisin cookies under the tree. She had made them for Santa Claus. But someone had gotten to the treats before Ol' Saint Nick had a chance to shimmy down the chimney. It didn't take us long to finger the culprit.

Mabel's Miracle 12/22/2009
Mabel's history: Not too much is known about her past.  Subject to abuse as a puppy, covered in scares, malnourished and developed medical problems with her legs.  She had behavioral symptoms of a fight dog.  She has a scare in her ear (from ear marking) that is commonly seen in puppy mill females.

During her first two and a half years she developed severe dog and human fear based aggression as she was bounced between 2-3 foster homes ending up in rescue care.  Due to aggression towards trainers she was deemed dangerous and was scheduled for euthanasia.

MSP Airpot 24/7 Boarding, 10/08/09
PROS: open 24 hrs, availability, clean, new, airport shuttle for a fee, overnight parking. When I picked up my dog after a two night stay, he had no peculiar odors, which I much appreciated and is has not always been my experience with other kennels...Great addition to the area, as it seems most doggie day cares / boarding places are too far away for us to use them.  Not only do they board pets overnight, but they have a deal with the airport, so you can park your car there (for a fee) and take a shuttle to the airport after you drop your little buddy off!  Get it..."Now Boarding."
