Now Boarding Reviewed
Doggy Daycare/Boarding Right by the Airport! Open 24/7!
#1 PROS: open 24 hrs, availability, clean, new, airport shuttle for a fee, overnight parking. When I picked up my dog after a two night stay, he had no peculiar odors, which I much appreciated and is has not always been my experience with other kennels. CONS: the dogs have only controlled access to the run, which is very small (4 x 4 is my guess) the kennels seems so removed from the staff area, there are sets of kennels in rooms in which the rooms are behind doors, playtime is extra and collar is removed which I had questioned but was told that is for safety, which is probably a good idea, but I was concerned about the horror story of my dog being sent home with someone else. I would have been very concerned if I had a black lab amongst other black labs. I would have preferred they took a picture of my dog as help identify him later if need be. He was not tired when I picked him up, so not sure how much play he got. I think their prices are stiff for what they have to offer but may use again in an emergency situation in which I need availability & convenience.
#2 Great addition to the area, as it seems most doggie day cares / boarding places are too far away for us to use them. Not only do they board pets overnight, but they have a deal with the airport, so you can park your car there (for a fee) and take a shuttle to the airport after you drop your little buddy off! Get it..."Now Boarding."
We've been taking our dog for doggie daycare, and they do a great job with our very shy dog. There's a big open playroom, and access to a small fenced in area where they take the dogs throughout the day. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and clearly care about the animals. The price for a 10-visit package is very reasonable, and they offer other services like grooming, though I thought the price for that was pretty high. There's no doggie webcam, which is kind of a bummer. But, I'm sure my employer is grateful that I'm not watching my dog hang out there all day (which I'd probably do if they had cameras.)
My understanding, too, is that Now Boarding is run by the Humane Society, so much of (if not all) profits go to benefit animals in need. Nice!
