Rescue dog adoption is one of the most rewarding experiences in the world.  Rescue dogs are often abused, neglected and at risk of euthanasia if they are not rescued.  Older dogs and black dogs are most likely to sit on the shelf.  A cute little puppy is nice and rescuing one is a wonderful deed, but please consider the old black lab in the back of the Humane Society! Find great rescue dogs in Minnesota that are available for adoption in the directory below.

Dog rescue Tips:  There is a stigma that rescue dogs are damaged goods.  If you rescue a dog and provide rules, boundaries, exercise and leadership, they will become a great member of your family.  Sometimes trauma and neglect will render your rescue dog impossible to handle.  Do not give up, there is no dog that cannot be rehabilitated.  All the Humane Societies and adoption centers in Minneapolis and St. Paul know of great dog behaviorists who can help you turn a bad dog into a good dog!  Thank you to everyone who chooses to adopt a rescue dog.
