Parking and Shuttles: Parking lots are available adjacent to the Animal Humane Society but they fill up early. You can also park in three nearby lots, with free shuttle bus service every 15 minutes starting at 8:00 a.m.
New Shuttle Bus system to deliver you and your pet to and from the fun quickly. (Pets are welcome on the shuttle buses!)
The Route: This year’s Walk for Animals begins at 10:00 a.m. at the Animal Humane Society’s Golden Valley campus, through Theodore Wirth Park, turns around, and heads back to the Animal Humane Society. The walk is approximately five miles but you can turn around at any point.
Why You Walk For Animals: You know what a difference they have made in your life and some of the nicest “people” you have ever known have been animals. You also care about animals less fortunate than your own. The Walk for Animals is your opportunity to help the nearly 35,000 companion animals that will come through the Animal Humane Society’s doors this year. Make no bones about it, these animals need your help. Begin raising pledges now and get ready for the best stand-up-on-your-hind-legs-and-bark event of the year!
Please remember to keep all critters under control and dogs on a short lead. All animals must have up-to-date vaccinations and rabies shots and must be under the control of an adult or have direct adult supervision.
